Marshall & Gilda Wise
Special Touch Missionaries

Chad Wise, Mascot

Marshall and Gilda Wise have been in full-time ministry since their marriage in 1970. Ministry opportunities have included ministering to the dependent, neglected population and the juvenile delinquent population before entering pastoral ministry in 1979 with the Church of God of Anderson, Indiana. Pastoral ministries were served in Roanoke and Abingdon, Virginia, Johnstown and Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania and then Church Planters in Salisbury, Maryland. Throughout their ministry lives, Marshall and Gilda’s passion for the Lord was evident in their combined worship gifts and their investment in relationships with others to see them come to a full and complete surrender to the Lord Jesus.

The parents of three adult children: Shawn and wife, Kara, Tiffany Mitchell and husband, Josh and Chad, the middle child AND one beloved grandson, Josiah Mitchell.

The family’s life was forever changed when Chad was born into the family, significantly ahead of schedule, leaving him and them with the diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Entering the world of people with disabilities has been rewarding, challenging, painful and purposeful…a lifelong learning curve! However, as God would have it, following their retirement from pastoral ministry in January 2011, Marshall and Gilda moved to Leland, NC and have accepted the call to be Home Missionaries for Special Touch, developing the ministry and North and South Carolina.

Hi Friends:I’ve just taken a quick tour of the site and so loved what I’ve seen. I am thrilled to see that someone has taken the lead to make churches more accessible to everyone. As I told you yesterday, ALL GOD’S CHILDREN WANT TO DANCE! and sing and worship. I very much enjoyed the video with Mr. Chivers who no doubt God will pour down His blessings on him. I wasn’t able to find the video you shared with me yesterday on your laptop about the camp showing the children with disabilities. Can you send me the exact page it’s on,please? Thanks so much.
